A Place is defined legally and through cultural associations and made into reality by ground being possessed and built on. In this series we see the transition from open to defined urban places and this changing landscape is the physical manifestation of a different human memory and experience being made.

This series of black and white medium format images of new suburb development in the Weston Creek area in southern Canberra in 2013. It has been inspired by old 1920s and 1930s black and white film images of Canberra. In those early images we see concept of Canberra being made real through construction.
